Desperation In Adoptees

I saw in Betty Jean Lifton's book how bad it is when adoptees are too needy with meeting their birth parents, and they feel soo abandoned when they cannot be received fully as they should have been as a baby and child. I am glad that I was aware of my neediness before going into reunion, because it made me not so desperate to them. I was subdued, and aware more of my pain and hurt. I have always been pretty aware of my feelings so I am lucky.
